Repositioning a Local Shopping Centre Around Community

The Challenge

Fairfield West Market Plaza had long been a well-known destination for the local community, but its brand no longer reflected the role it played in the lives of the people it served.

The existing identity lacked consistency, the website had become outdated and there was an opportunity to create a stronger connection between the centre, its tenants and the wider Fairfield West community.

At the same time, the centre wanted to attract new vendors, increase foot traffic and establish a stronger foundation for future growth.

The challenge was not simply to refresh the visual identity. It was to reposition the centre around the things that mattered most to its customers while creating a clear roadmap for growth.

The Approach

We began by developing a strategic framework for the relaunch of the Fairfield West Market Plaza brand.

Through stakeholder discussions and market exploration, we identified four core reasons people visited the centre: Food, Services, Community and Shopping. These became the foundation of the brand strategy and informed every creative and marketing decision that followed.

The new identity was designed to celebrate the diversity and vibrancy of the businesses that make Fairfield West Market Plaza a destination for the local community. The logo was built as a visual representation of these four pillars, creating a unique, approachable and memorable identity that reflected the centre's role as more than just a place to shop.

Alongside the new visual identity, we redesigned the website to improve usability, modernise the customer experience and create a stronger digital presence for both shoppers and tenants.

To support the relaunch, we also developed a 12-month marketing strategy designed to increase community engagement, attract new vendors and drive greater foot traffic to the centre. This provided a clear roadmap for ongoing marketing activity and ensured the brand transformation extended beyond visual identity into tangible business outcomes.

The result was a connected brand and growth strategy that aligned positioning, customer experience and marketing around a single vision for the future of the centre.

Fairfield West Market Plaza emerged with a refreshed identity that better reflected its purpose, its tenants and the community it serves.

The new brand provided a stronger platform for future marketing activity, vendor attraction and community engagement, while the redesigned website created a more accessible and modern customer experience.
